Occupational Health

Occupational health is a branch of medicine that specialises in physical and mental wellbeing of employees in the workplace. The aim of occupational health is to prevent work-related illness & injury through ergonomics, encouraging safe working practices and monitoring the health of the workforce. Workers in physical jobs such as in the construction industry, the health sector and agriculture are at higher risk of occupational injuries and men tend to be impacted more than women.

Physiotherapists can be involved in the injury assessment, functional rehabilitation and return to work assessment. Here at East Cork Physio, we can assess any work-related musculoskeletal injury. Together we can combine physiotherapy treatment with a tailor-made exercise program to have you return to work at your pre injury level.
